A Chicago Legacy.
A Jesuit Tradition.

We Are Saint Ignatius

For more than 150 years, Saint Ignatius College Prep has stood at the crossroads of faith, learning, and service in the heart of Chicago. Founded by visionary Jesuits who believed education transforms lives, Saint Ignatius continues to shape young people into leaders who think critically, act compassionately, and serve generously. Here, rigorous academics meet a deep commitment to justice and a spirit that seeks God in all things.

Stories from Our Students

Aqil '26

For a class, Aqil '26 spent some time in our garden named for St. Thérèse of Lisieux, and it became his favorite spot on campus. "That garden is peaceful for me. It helps me really think. It helps me understand what's around me, and it helps me use the gifts I was given," shares Aqil.
Like the flowers in the garden, Aqil sees himself as being in the process of blooming – a process he says his teachers and his friends here at Saint Ignatius have helped.
"There are some things in my life, kind of like the weather – sometimes hot, sometimes cold, sometimes just right. When it's just right, that's when I really bloom. Saint Ignatius is just right," offers Aqil, "The school helps me bloom because I have the foundation to actually flourish. I have a support system to help me stand up straight."
Aqil describes his experience with the Wolfpack as one that's allowed him to grow and become more mature. He explains, "Communication helped me ask for help in class. It helped me make friends." His advice to future members of the Wolfpack: "Be yourself because people will gravitate towards you."
  • Talia '25 and Olivia '25 say they owe their friendship to Saint Ignatius College Prep! The besties found a common bond in Harlequins, the theater group.
Oliva says, "I found my community in Harlequins, and I just love being a part of something that involves people from all different backgrounds."
Both students say experience has taught them to take advantage of everything Ignatius has to offer. Their advice to new students: make sure you experience high school "because it's super fun!"
We also asked them about the most important lesson they've learned here. Talia says, "Ignatius has taught me how to manage my time in a wise way...so I don't get overwhelmed while still doing all the things I love." Olivia chimed in, "I've learned a lot about collaboration...It really teaches you how to form relationships."

  • Elias '26

When you ask Elias why he chose Saint Ignatius College Prep, the sophomore football player and altar server has a lot of reasons.

He says the beauty of the campus makes it exciting to come to school every day. He also loves that his teachers are passionate about their subject matter and how they share it, doing their best to help students learn.

He's optimistic about his future because of what he calls a good Wolfpack track record.

Elias says, "I see how successful graduates are - and I don't mean just monetarily. They're successful human beings. They serve others. They care about the Ignatian Values. That means a lot."

  • It also offered Tori an opportunity to get involved. In addition to her classes, the sophomore runs track and plays soccer.

She says, "I love the community and the environment. Saint Ignatius feels tailored to me and how I want to grow as a person."" data-long="">

    Tori '26

A Jesuit education is part of Tori's recent family history. Her dad went to Saint Ignatius in Cleveland, and she says that played a part in her deciding to join the Wolfpack. She also wanted something new.

"I'm from the suburbs. When I was looking at high schools, I decided I wanted to meet new people," she says, " I wanted to be open to new experiences. Saint Ignatius College Prep offered that."

It also offered Tori an opportunity to get involved. In addition to her classes, the sophomore runs track and plays soccer.

She says, "I love the community and the environment. Saint Ignatius feels tailored to me and how I want to grow as a person."
